Workshop: Day 4

I was fortunate enough to come across a program in the area which was designed to help professionals such as myself. This is a great program available to anyone in the area who is either unemployed due to a layoff (such as myself) or are underemployed and looking for the job that better suits them but has escaped them up to this point. They are a non-profit organization so every tool and resources they have available is non-profit. This is perfect for someone who's trying to find a job as cheap and efficiently as possible. You're probably asking yourself who they are and how you can contact them (if unemployed) and if you allow me to get there I will divulge that information later.

The first step to becoming a member is to complete a 4-day workshop covering a range of topics which ranged from developing a new way to introduce yourself with what's called a 60-second me to the negotiation process. Of all the things I learned this has proved to be the most difficult to my inability to cram 5-minutes into 1...at least simply. You name the topic, it was discussed. This all leads to the "Final", which is a mock interview which is to be treated as real as you can possibly imagine.

Since I'm not here to write a book, you won't find me discussing what went on in this class in every minute detail but I will mention points of interest as they come up.

So I have a final to prepare for tomorrow...and I love tests so I'm sure I will have something to say about that. Good Luck to me and my fake job that I'm trying to get...go meeee!!!

In The Beginning...

I've decided to start a blog to document my latest journey to find a job. In this day and age the process has become so much more specific that I don't think anyone really realizes how much work it can be. I will try to post all that seems relevant or potentially useful.

I have never really taken the time to document a task such as this so I will be winging it as I go along. Combined with my god given ability to ramble, I shouldn't have a shortage of words and verbiage. So bare with me as I fumble my way through this task/process...or whatever you want to call it.
